Press Release: Fatal Collision– Harder Rd and Soto Rd Fatal Collision- Intersection of Harder Rd and Soto Rd HAYWARD, Calif., On Monday, August 31, 2026, at approximately 12:10 a.m., officers responded to the report of a collision involving a vehicle and bicyclist near the intersection of Harder Rd and Soto Rd.  Officers arrived and located all involved parties.    The driver, a 52-year-old adult male and Hayward resident, was on scene when officers arrived. He was cooperative and provided a statement regarding the incident. The driver’s identity is not being released at this time.  The bicyclist, a 62-year-old male adult, was located at the scene of the collision suffering from injuries related to the collision. Medical personnel responded and transported him to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.  The identity of the pedestrian is cur
