The City of Mountain View’s public safe-parking page includes a short list of ways community members can help participants. The page names needs including vehicle repair, routine RV maintenance, gas cards, vehicle insurance, driver license fees, food pantry items, hygiene products, blankets, winter coats, socks, pet-veterinarian support, and toilet paper.

The same public page says donations should be made through CSA.

VINI is separating that program-support information from reader support for VINI reporting. Donations to VINI support journalism costs such as records requests, document review, field checks, corrections infrastructure, source protection, accessibility work, and publication maintenance. They do not fund safe-parking operators, agencies, or program participants unless a separate, clearly labeled campaign says so.

This distinction matters because readers should know whether a support button funds journalism, direct services, legal advocacy, or a program operator. The footer and reader-support modules now route VINI support separately from source links about community-service donations.
