Safety upgrades coming to Tennyson High School, Industrial Parkway Trail Union Pacific Rail Crossings The Alameda County Transportation Commission’s (Alameda CTC) Rail Safety Enhancement Program is bringing safety and connectivity improvements to those that walk, roll, bike, or drive in Hayward and throughout Alameda County. The work is designed to enhance safety by upgrading crossing panels, pedestrian facilities, warning devices, and associated roadway features at railway intersections, and is locally funded through Measure BB as well as state, regional and federal funding. Construction activities in Hayward are scheduled to begin at the Tennyson High School and Industrial Parkway Trail crossings on Tuesday, July 21, and continue until Saturday, July 25, 2026. To support construction, temporary trail closures will be required at the UPRR rail crossing at Industrial Parkway Trail
